A team-building Discord works best after you have a complete team and a specific question. Reviewers need the six, the plan and evidence from actual games.
What to include in a Pokémon team-review post
All six Pokémon
Share one complete version. A partial core cannot reveal role compression or matchup gaps.
Complete sets
Include moves, items, Abilities, natures, relevant EVs and every format-specific choice.
Usual leads
Explain the opening pairs and selected four you expect into common archetypes.
Win condition
State how the team creates an advantage and what the intended endgame looks like.
Difficult matchup
Name the opposing core, lead or board state that repeatedly creates the problem.
Replay evidence
Provide representative games and identify the first turn you want reviewed.
A PokéPaste is a convenient way to share the sets, but it does not explain the pilot plan. Add the regulation, platform, goals and what you have already tested.
Replace “rate my team” with a reviewable question
Useful questions are narrow: “How should this six approach rain without giving up the Trick Room matchup?” or “Is the speed investment achieving the benchmark I described?” The reviewer can then explain a decision instead of replacing the whole team from preference.
A disciplined community review process
- Confirm the current format and legality.
- Identify each slot’s job and the team’s main route to winning.
- Review the repeated matchup using replays rather than memory alone.
- Propose the smallest change that addresses the evidence.
- Retest a fixed block and record whether the problem changed.

A public example of detailed team discussion
CommunityOne currently indexes a public discussion from the Pokémon Champions server in which a player requested further optimisation after reporting a 21-3-1 Master Ball run and strong Pokémon Showdown placements. That example is useful because it contains an actual team, performance context and a request for improvement—not because one result proves every review will have the same outcome.
What a Discord review cannot replace
Community advice can be wrong or format-dependent. Verify legality with first-party rules, check damage assumptions with appropriate tools and test changes yourself. Do not post private conversations, opponent information or unshared teams. The official VGC rules control Championship Series requirements.

Find the right practice partner
State the format, platform, sheet rules, time zone and exact question. Clear requests are easier to answer and easier to review.
