Takuma Yamazaki of Japan won the first Pokémon Champions VGC Masters World Championship, defeating Hiroshi Onishi 2–1 in an all-Japan final in San Francisco.

What the final teaches competitive players
Four shared Pokémon, different plans
Both finalists used Mega Floette, Garchomp, Basculegion and Kingambit, but their final two slots created different speed, pressure and positioning options.
Mega Dragonite reached the top
Yamazaki’s Mega Dragonite distinguished the winning structure from the dominant Mega Charizard Y composition without abandoning the proven M-B core.
BO3 adaptation mattered
The 2–1 result is a useful study in adjusting leads and targets after information is revealed. Copying the six is less valuable than understanding those changes.
M-C is a new problem
Worlds closes the M-B chapter. New M-C teams must be checked against the live official roster and six newly allowed Mega Evolutions.
